A non-profit organisation registered under the 1901 Act, ‘Parisien d'un jour – Paris Greeters’ organises free walks in Paris and the surrounding areas, accessible by the metro, off the beaten track and away from the main tourist routes.
“Parisien d'un jour – Paris Greeters” is a member of the International Greeters Association (IGA) and is committed to upholding its core values.
Our values
The ‘Greeters’ are volunteers; they are a friendly face for visitors.
Greeters welcome individuals and groups of up to 6 people.
A meeting with a Greeter is completely free of charge.
Greeters welcome everyone – visitors and volunteers alike – without any form of discrimination.
Greeter networks are part of a sustainable tourism approach that respects both the environment and people.
They help to enrich local communities culturally and economically, thereby helping to promote a positive image of the destination.
Greeter networks promote mutual enrichment and cultural exchange between individuals, with a view to creating a better world.
Important
The tours offered by the ‘Greeters’ are simply friendly walks in a neighbourhood regularly visited by the ‘Greeter’ (where they live or have a particular connection). We do not offer any museum tours or tours requiring specialist knowledge. Visitors wishing to take part in a tour of this kind should contact a professional guide.
